Yoga Nidra - Your Free Christmas Relaxation Track
December is such a strange month isn’t it? We focus so much on other people and often we neglect ourselves. So here is my gift to you this Christmas - a 15 minute Yoga Nidra practice to help you unwind, de-stress and take time out of the hustle and bustle of Christmas. And if your Christmas is quieter and less overwhelming, this Yoga Nidra practice will still help you to dedicate some time to yourself and find calm within.
Yoga Nidra is a wonderfully soothing practise. Unlike many forms of yoga, it’s about stillness not movement. There are no poses. I invite you to settle into a lying down position if you can before you press play, and ensure you are warm and cosy and will not be disturbed by others.
Yoga Nidra is a Sanskrit term that translates to Yogic Sleep. We’re not actually trying to fall asleep during Yoga Nidra, the aim is to stay awake and be guided through by my voice, into a deep state of relaxation. Listening to this audio might take you into that lovely place where you are conscious and awake but drifting towards a state of sleep where your brain activity starts to slow down. Many people who would like to meditate but find it very difficult, can benefit from Yoga Nidra as it is a guided process.
Yoga Nidra can be practised by anyone of all ages, and I teach Yoga Nidra during my monthly Sunday Rest & Relax Yoga Classes as well as my regular Morning Retreats. If you like this audio, do come along and enjoy a longer session with me.
