Spring into Yoga this Season
We made it to Springtime, finally! Did it feel like a long winter for you? These days I try to accept the changing seasons and adapt my lifestyle to live more in sync with the natural cycle of time. In winter I slow down, I rest more, spend more time at home and nourish myself with warming foods and lots and lots of tea! It’s natural to feel a little sluggish in Winter and crave the return of warmth and light in Spring. Yoga is a wonderful way to really embrace the new season. Yoga in springtime helps us shake off the winter blues, start to move our bodies more and boost our energy.
Springtime is a wonderful time to start a new hobby or activity, or learn something new! We feel a sense of optimism when the mornings are lighter and the sun lasts well into the evening, and this light coupled with the growth and newness we see in nature means Springtime is a perfect time to explore newness ourselves. If you’re looking for a new challenge, experience, or pastime this Spring, yoga could be perfect for you!
Yoga encourages us to really focus on our wellbeing. We want to feel good all year round and Springtime is a great time to think about how you can grow, change and bloom just like nature around us. Yoga is a powerful tool for you to learn more about yourself and find some inner calm.
If you struggle with stress, anxiety, low mood, these feelings may be worse in the darker, colder months. Practising yoga through the year can support your physical, emotional and mental health, so starting a regular class or practise in Springtime will mean come Autumn and Winter you have a tool to help you when your mood dips.
Beginners to yoga are always welcome in my classes, so don’t worry if you’ve never practised before or if you have tried yoga many years ago. I will support you to develop your yoga practise each time you come to class. You’ll leave feeling accomplished - the hardest part is motivating yourself to come to class. You will leave feeling calm, collected, relaxed and refreshed - ready for whatever life throws at you.
Set an intention to put yourself first this springtime and explore all yoga has to offer.
