About Emma Glover Yoga
Yoga has been a part of my life for around 30 years. I love that yoga helps me feel less stressed, less anxious and ‘stuck in my head’ and more in control. My morning yoga practise sets me up for the rest of the day. Yoga has always helped me feel GOOD and that’s what I aim for you to feel when you leave my classes.
My teaching style mixes traditional yoga with modern-day knowledge
My teaching style includes pranayama (breathwork), often meditation and Mudra, always mindful movement and asana (poses). The movement we undertake is designed for our modern bodies - encouraging better posture and supporting our bodies in letting go of the muscle tension we hold, be it from stress, driving, sitting down a lot or using screens.
My teaching style will make you feel at ease and encouraged to go at your own pace. There’s no competition in yoga, we all work to our own abilities and listen to our bodies, which you’ll be encouraged to do in my classes. Sometimes we wobble, often we get our left and right mixed up, and frequently we have a giggle when I mix up my words. Yoga isn’t about perfection.
My goal is to teach you yoga to help you feel your best mentally, physically and emotionally. I make sure everyone feels welcome when they come through the door and we have a wonderful sense of community in each of my groups. I give you the space to come in and have some quiet YOU time or equally to chat and make connections before class begins.
Each class is uplifting, heart-warming and
soul-inspiring.
I invite students to think about different themes that focus on various aspects of wellbeing, mental health and life. We explore elements of yoga philosophy and how this can be applied to our modern lives. I often talk about the nervous system and how yoga can really take us out of fight/flight/freeze mode, releasing stress and invoking calm.
Everyone feels as though they can DO yoga in my class. It’s not about perfection. It’s not about being the most flexible. It’s about feeling good.
Physically, I will always give you lots of options in each pose or movement. You do what you can do and still get all the lovely benefits of yoga. We move mindfully and build strength gradually, mobilising our bodies with flowing movements and always incorporating yogic breathing techniques.
I love teaching beginners and they are welcome at any of my classes. I often run specific beginners yoga classes, workshops and courses as well.
Since qualifying I’ve additionally trained in Chair Yoga and adore giving people the opportunity to enjoy the benefits of yoga without the need to get up and down on the floor. I also trained with the leading experts in Menopause Yoga to support women with menopause yoga classes. Restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra are passions of mine and I love seeing people truly let go and relax in these classes. You can see the full range of class types I offer here.
I am grateful every day for being able to teach what I love, and seeing people benefit from this wonderful practise.
“I can’t believe the difference yoga has made to my balance & flexibility… The class suits people of all ages and abilities”
